Who Dat, Do Dat and Answer the Critics at 5-0!

For Saints fans, we have come to a crossroad of sorts – a who’s who if you will going into week 6. The critics say our start is only reflective of the level of quality of our opposition we we have faced. So, I am going to critique the critics and give my opinion of who we’ve faced thus far, albeit briefly.

Atlanta – All the hype this preseason, Matty Ice and Co. coming back to take this division by storm. Matty Ice alright – Ice Cold.

Tampa Bay – They may not have been a significant threat, but the win against them was significant in sealing our status as division leaders early on. Hey Bucs, Arh ye ready to walk ye plank to 0-4 mateys?

Arizona – They were considered a “quality” team when they came to our house – I do recall they were undefeated. Their defense, however, flew the coop, bringing us to 3-0. Funny how now that they haven’t been doing so well.  The critics have changed their tune saying they were not all that good going up against us. That’s not what you said on gameday – amnesia is a beatch isn’t it?

Miami – Were they not a capable opponent?  Undefeated and all the Tannehill hype? I guess a Dolphins loss is Sea World’s gain.  Hey Miami, Shamu called. He wants his B**** back.

Chicago – Even as they lost their place amongst the elite who still reigned as undefeated, those critics didn’t think we could beat them in Chicago.  Always quick to sweep us under the rug. And a rug is what Brees and the boys made of us fans after winning against the Bears in their house. Any of that Bear stew left, anyone?

Still no real validation. Only after Pretty Boy Brady took a pretty embarrassing loss to Cincinnati this week have the critics only slightly seemed to awaken out of their dream state to see that we exist. But no real recognition still. How can they not give Jimmy Graham his due props, not just for this year but the past three? How can they discount a record breaking QB like Drew Brees who, like a fine wine, just gets better with time? What about a defense that everyone laughed at last year and scoffed at Rob Ryan’s arrival? Who’s laughing now? An offensive line that protects our QB and holds the opposing teams defense back?  Yes please!  And our head coach Sean Payton who has come back to prove HE DAT?

After we defeat the Patriots this weekend I would like to say to all these critics, analysts, neighsayers, hater-nationers, “Saints can’t do ers”, and to quote Mr. D_love, “Have Many Seats” and take your foot and insert it back in your mouth and recognize, Who Dat came to Do Dat, here we go to 6-0!

Who Dat Nation.  All. Day. Long.
