City Hall in Jersey City Evacuated After Suspicious Tim Tebow Picture Arrives

Just when you thought the talk of Tim Tebow had died down, BAM- a letter arrives at the doorstep that’s laced with an unknown, powdery substance and a picture of Tim Tebow. No, this is actually real and this isn’t some crime show type ordeal. Monday afternon in Jersey City, N.J., a suspicious letter showed up at the Jersey City, City Hall that caused the building to be evacuated and people to wonder who sent this mysterious package.

An outside news source reported that shortly after 2 p.m. eastern time, the City Hall building in Jersey City was being evacuated after receiving a strange package filled with an unidentified white, powdery substance, a photograph of former Jets’ quarterback Tim Tebow, and religious literature.

The letter was addresses to the mayor of Jersey City, Steven Fulop, as well as his “family and friends.” The freaky contents of the package were discovered by the mayor’s aid who was extremely concerned when white powder creeped from the seams of the envelope.  Authorities were notified shortly after the letter was opened and the building was evacuated for safety precautions. Emergency response personel, Jersey City police, and a hazmat team surrounded the premises of the City Hall and put individuals who were near the letter while it was opened into quarantine. The situation was handled like every other potential biological attack, however, the powder turned out to be nothing of harm.

CBS New York went further in depth of the envelope’s contents, per the Journal’s report:

There was also a letter inside, which sources told the newspaper contained “spiritual stuff; heaven stuff,” along with a picture of the former Jets quarterback. But the exact contents of the letter were not revealed to the newspaper pending investigation.

No further information has yet been stated about the source of the letter, but as of now the address on the letter was registered to a fake address.
