Steelers Lose a Late-Round Draft Pick for Sideline Incident

Mike Tomlin may not be smiling anymore.

After the NFL came down with a $100,000 fine against the veteran coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, it had been widely speculated that the team may also see a draft pick stripped from them.  The conversation in the time leading up to the ultimate decision from the NFL head office seemed to lean more towards the team not losing the pick.  However, it was reported today by Jason La Canfora, of CBS Sports, that the Steelers will indeed lose a pick.

Considering the Baltimore Ravens still went on to win the game, despite the prevented touchdown for Jacoby Jones as a result of Tomlin’s sidelines antics, one can only wonder how significant the response from the NFL office would have been had the Steelers went on to win the game.

It has yet to be determined what actual pick the Steelers will lose, that will be decided at the conclusion of the season once the draft order is set.

I really… really don’t think Mike Tomlin is still smiling.
