How many times have we heard the phrase “what’s going on in this world”? We talk about not being able to understand how the world or life is so messed up and no one stands for the right things anymore. The same people I hear say these things one moment, will turn around and say something like “Ray is only human; they can’t take his lively hood away from him”.
Fabber’s Believe It or Not, Finding Value and Week 3.
Are you serious? That is exactly what should happen. No one speaks up for the janitor that lost his job for drinking and driving. No one backs the teacher who got fired after shop lifting. Why? Why do we back athletes to the point where we justify their wrongs or put blame on others over their own actions? This makes no sense to me. I work year round on finding the values of players in fantasy football but now I am just trying to find the values we have as people.
The four year old boy had defense wounds on his hands. He was hit in the scrotum so hard it left a mark that lasted days. He left the “beating room” as he called it with over two dozen marks on his four year old body. He was bleeding, crying and scared. I hear people saying that’s the culture of the south. That is very disturbing because it reminds me of history lessons when slavery was just a culture of the south. That was as wrong as this is.
The woman who got knocked out and dragged across the floor for the whole world to see over and over again does not get the sympathy but rather the man that hit her was wronged. To hear people say because of the argument that happened before justifies the actions of that man is sickening. So many people are telling me what’s fair to him or not but few are saying what’s fair to her and society.
I hear people arguing technicalities or due process makes my blood boil over. This is ridiculous and sends a loud clear message that I have to figure out how to explain to my daughter. That playing a game is more important than right or wrong at this moment. That people would rather support the guilty over the innocent. That people claim culture lines over children and woman safety. This message is one I cannot sit by and let happen. I cannot as a man watch silently while people make this out to be a NFL wrong doing. How does one handle this situation I do not know but it could never be worse than the one who did the wrong doing.
I want to see Roger Goodell get in behind a microphone today and say get your lawyers ready NFLPA because here is what’s happening, Ray Rice you are suspended forever now for having the audacity to even appeal this suspension for knocking your now wife out on video where at some point your daughter will see what you did. But don’t worry that’s not your fault either. I want the commissioner to follow that up with Adrian Peterson and all the other low lives that are mucking up the game we all love so dearly that they are all gone indefinitely. I want finding value in the person to be more important than finding value of the player on Sunday. The NFL has made it after Joe Montana, Dan Marino, and Brett Favre. They will make it through this if they do the right thing. If we keep fighting for these players that cannot succeed as people they will destroy the league we love so much. It’s not the ticket sales that drive the NFL it’s the sponsors and as we see they are starting to pay attention to the signals the NFL are sending. I hope more people will start standing for what’s right like some businesses are.
Talk about doing right; let’s get to some fantasy and off the soap box. Here is a quick recap of week 2 and players I believe in for week 3 and of course some I don’t. This is not a “this player over that player piece”, it’s just some guys that ride the fence that I believe will do good or bad this week. If you have a question on line up questions just direct those to me on twitter @Coach_Mikefx. Thank you and good luck this week.

Week 3 Believes
QBs
Tom Brady NE, 23 points: I say I am done with this guy every week but yet I fall into the same trap every week. I will give him another chance but with the fear that they mash Oakland and spend three quarters running the clock out. I feel good about it but still have a little pit in my stomach.
Russell Wilson SEA, 21 points: The Denver defense is improved but I am not sure how they will handle a mobile quarterback. I don’t think it will be that great, plus Seattle will have to score some this year to keep up with Peyton Manning. I love the Percy Harvin connection and I look forward to seeing it on Sunday.
Andy Dalton CIN, 20 points: I know he is most likely going to be missing A.J. Green but that might make him more dangerous. He will spread the ball around and not focus on one side of the field. He has improved under this offense with consistence and that should continue. Regular season Andy is living up to the name once again. So you got to love him in September, just not January.
RBs
Knile Davis KC, 15 points: I like him a little more than Jamal Charles because he can handle the beating between the tackles. He is strong and aggressive and will get 25 or more touches this week. I expect big things.
Stevan Ridley NE, 14 points: We figured out the method to the running back madness in New England. If it’s a close game or Patriots are behind Shane Vereen will be used. If the Patriots are leading it will be Ridley bleeding the clock out. This week they play Oakland, yea exactly, Ridley it is.
Zac Stacy STL, 12 points: If you follow me at all I never say nice things about this player, so if I am it should be true. This will be his week to make a statement but the rest of the year will be sad again.
WRs
Keenan Allen SD, 18 points: The bounce back game my friends. Everyone saying Seattle’s defensive backfield was exposed but none of the receivers for San Diego did anything. Allen feels the heat of having a disappointing start and will make up for it on Sunday.
Julian Edelman NE, 17 points: The most trusted weapon seems to be Edelman. He is putting together some solid performances even when they don’t pass much. This should continue and is the only receiver I would take from New England.
Percy Harvin SEA, 15 points: They run it with him, they pass it to him and they move him all over the field. They will find ways to get him the ball and every time he touches it he can break it. I expect a big play in this one for him.
TEs
Zach Ertz PHI, 12 points: He is like a good book, I just fall more and more in love with him every week. He is a red zone target, a deep threat target and a safety valve for Philly. He will find the open area this week, it’s just can he find the end zone again.
Larry Donnell NYG, 11 points: Eli Manning loves this big target and the offensive line is so bad he has to get the ball out quick most passing downs. Donnell runs short routes in the middle of the field which makes him easy to see and get the ball too.
Dennis Pita BAL, 10 points: He had 15 targets in week one, which made the Steelers over play him and pay for it. Look for it to be a balanced defense this week and try to limit Steve Smith. That will leave Pita to bring in some points for fantasy owners.
Kickers
Dan Bailey DAL, 12 points
Greg Zuerrlein STL, 11 Points
Defenses
Patriots 16 points
Colts 12 points
NOTS
QBs
Colin Kaepernick SF, 17 points: He is in his head right now and doesn’t look comfortable in the pocket. He has cut down on his running but hasn’t increased his ability to pass. I don’t know the excuse but I am dying to hear it.
Ryan Tannehill MIA, 15 points: They do not throw the ball more than 10 yards affectively and they will protect their lead by running early and often. This isn’t his week.
RBs
Montee Ball DEN, 9 points: Seattle will be mad and angry and look to take it out on Ball this week. He isn’t catching fire like many predicted and this will be another week where owners will get nervous.
C.J. Spiller BUF, 8 points: Unless you get special team points this player is not giving you that much. The trend will continue for the foreseeable future, sorry.
WRs
Larry Fitzgerald ARI, 8 points: He was sure targeted enough last week and had a decent game. San Francisco will look to limit him and his production this week. Owners beware kind of game.
Torrey Smith BAL, 6 points: More of the same here do I need to say more. Buy him low but don’t expect much this week.
TEs
Heath Miller PIT, 6 points: Playing a Carolina defense that is used to playing Jimmy Graham and Tony Gonzales should be a tall task. This might be his toughest matchup of the year.
Travis Kelce KC, 6 points: Miami has some problems on the defensive side of the ball but one is not guarding the tight end. His snap count has increased but targets have leveled off. That is not a good equation for fantasy owners.
Kickers
Josh Brown NYG, 6 points
Ryan Succop TEN, 5 points
Defense
Jets 6 points
Broncos 5 points
