The top-rated overall prospect in the 2015 ESPN 300 College Football recruiting rankings, Josh Sweat, may have seen his high school season come to an early end on Friday night.

Top recruit Josh Sweat Suffers Serious Leg Injury

Sweat was carted off of the field Friday night with an apparent dislocated left knee cap. It is unsure how long he will be out, but he figures to miss some significant time, and perhaps the remainder of the season.

Josh Sweat is a blue-chip defensive end out of Chesapeake, Virginia has previously visited Florida State, Oregon, Georgia, and Ohio State. Sweat also had been scheduled to attend a trip to Virginia Tech this weekend, however it appears that visit will now need to be rescheduled.

The injury took place in the second quarter of Oscar Frommel Smith High School’s game against Western Branch.

The injury comes on the heels of a torn labrum suffered by fellow five-star defensive end CeCe Jefferson, that will also keep him out of the rest of the high school football season.
