Fantasy Profile: Yadier Molina, C, St. Louis
Pos. Rank 8, Captains Value $8.83
2014 was a shaky season for Yadier Molina. Not only was his production down from the prior two seasons, but he was derailed by thumb and oblique injuries. Health is a big concern for Molina, now entering his age 32 season. Can he stay injury free for an entire year?
Molina finished third in NL MVP voting in 2013 and led all catchers in batting average, hits, runs, and was second in RBIs, behind only Jonathon Lucroy. However, his power numbers and consistency were limited last year, leading to Molina’s worst offensive season since 2010.
Which Yadier Molina will show up in 2015? The .319/.359/.477 2013 version or the .282/.333/.386 2014 version? Either way, he is worth your 12th round pick and will be a very solid fantasy catcher.
