Pre-Deadline Trades, Trades, and More Trades

NHL general managers aren’t waiting until March 2nd to do their trade deadline moves, as we saw a trio of deals go down since our last show.

In Toronto, Brendan Shanahan has MLSE board approval to tear the team down and rebuild.  He’s started doing it by moving Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli to the Nashville Predators for a first round pick, Brendan Leipsic and Olli Jokinen.  Is this the right move for the Leafs future?  How much have the first place Preds improved on the deal?  Who is the next player out in Toronto and could Phil Kessel or Dion Phaneuf move before the deadline?

From there we move onto a real blockbuster as the Sabres pickup Evander Kane and Zach Bogosian from the Winnipeg Jets for Tyler Myers, Drew Stafford, Joel Armia, Brendan Lemieux and a first round pick.  Who won this blockbuster? And can it take the Jets into the playoffs.

Buffalo wasn’t done though, as they sent Jhonas Enroth to the Dallas Stars for a conditional third round pick, and Anders Lindback. What do we think of this move, and who is the goaltender of the future in Buffalo?  Are the Stars playoff hopes given a boost with Enroth?

Speaking of the Stars playoff hopes, Tyler Seguin is hurt.  How does this effect the team and where do they go from here?

Lastly we talk NHL department of player safety.  How do we feel about the suspensions of Dmitry Kulikov and Antoine Roussel?

All that and more as Dave and Ben go on the Powerplay.
