At 6’5″ and 220 lbs the largest receiver on the Blue Bombers’ is newly signed Jordan Reaves. He’s a Winnipeg native and University of Brandon alum. Reaves tried his hand at playing professional basketball overseas this past year, after a very successful university career. He will bring size and speed to the game and should he impress at training camp will be an impact player for the Bombers.
Jordan Reaves has the pedigree of a professional athlete. His brother Ryan Reaves is currently a player for the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and his father is no other than Willard Reaves, who played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1983 until 1987. He rushed for 898 yards in his first year and in ’84 led the league rushing for 1,733 yards on 304 carries and 18 touchdowns, all of which were team records.
If Jordan can make a smooth transition to football and carries any of his father’s determination he will be someone to look out for this upcoming season.
Here is the Press Release from the Blue Bombers.
