Treble Radio: Robert Lintott talks FA Cup and Aston Villa

This week on Treble Radio, we review the final weekend of the Premier League season! Newcastle managed to win a game and stay up, meaning despite a draw against Manchester United, Hull will spend next season in the Championship. Arslan, Eric, and Laura discuss all the major storylines from the past weekend, including Arslan’s reaction to Liverpool’s worst defeat in 52 years.

Then, Treble Radio welcomes Robert Lintott of 7500 to Holte, and Aston Villa website, to discuss the FA Cup Final and Aston Villa’s resurgence. Robert tells us what he thinks of Tim Sherwood and helps us preview Villa’s chance to win some silverware at Wembley. We ask him what Villa must do to turn things around against Arsenal, who have beaten Villa a combined 8-0 in their last two matchups.

We close the show by discussing each teams chances in the FA Cup Final and find out whether Eric is confident or scared going into the big game. Plus, we talk about our plans for the offseason.

All that and more this week on Treble Radio.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Laura was trained from birth to be a Nebraska Cornhusker Football fan. Unlike most Huskers, her dad played soccer and introduced her to that sport as well, which understandably stole her heart. Laura’s love for the Spice Girls and Harry Potter carried her love for soccer across the Atlantic to a team not unlike her Huskers, Manchester United. They were once great and believe they can be again, but it hasn’t really happened yet. Laura is also a fan of the MLS team Sporting Kansas City in the typical fashion of a Nebraskan: loving a KC team due to lack of anything at all in the state of Nebraska.

Eric Walcott is a Legislative Assistant in the Michigan House of Representatives by day, and a soccer fan 24/7. He’s played soccer his whole life and now covers MLS, Portland Timbers, and Arsenal for LWOS. Eric helped start the supporters group Sons of Ransom for NPSL club Lansing United because there’s nothing quite like standing in the crowd and supporting your local team every weekend. 4th place might not be a trophy, but THE FA CUP SURELY IS!

Treble Radio host, Arslan Siddiqui, is a Canadian who does not speak many languages, but he has definitely specialized in the language of the beautiful game. When his grasp of the language isn’t strong enough, he (tries) to substitute it with comedy. He is a Liverpool fan who started the ‘Anfield Alive’ column on Sports Events Guide, where he provides commentary and opinion on everything Liverpool and Premier League related. A university student and a young adult, he promises to provide entertainment and (a little bit of) knowledge!
