Saint Louis FC Sign Irvin Herrera
ST. LOUIS (February 20, 2016) – Saint Louis FC departs for Charleston, South Carolina this evening. The club will be training at the facilities of both College of Charleston and Charleston Southern while staying in the Palmetto state. Training sessions are currently scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. cst before the squad’s first test against outside competition in 2016 as it faces College of Charleston in an exhibition match on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. CST.
”We’re eager to begin the next phase of our preseason.” said General Manager Jeremy Alumbaugh. “Our time in Charleston will offer us a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the state of our team and we’re especially appreciative of College of Charleston and Charleston Southern for allowing us to train at their facilities, as well as the Charleston Battery for hosting the event.”
The club will resume training on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. CST followed by one last two-a-day training session Friday. Camp will wrap up Saturday with exhibition matches against Coastal Carolina at 9:00 a.m. cst and the Charleston Battery at 3:00 p.m. CST.
Fans may remember the last contest between STLFC and the Battery. After going down 0-2 in the 18th minute in St. Louis, the home side stormed back to tie the match in the 83rd minute from a Sam Fink header before ultimately stealing the victory at home with an Aaron Horton goal in the 90th minute, propelling the squad to three consecutive home wins to close out the season.
