LWOS is pleased to present our new hockey podcast, the 4th Line. Coming from Calgary, AB and Nanaimo, BC, Carl and Joel provide their own unique and fun view of hockey. Every week the guys share their thoughts on the news of the week, have a variety of guests from the world of hockey and spend some time in segments like Kangaroo Court, The Rant Shack and The Hot Seat. Each week Carl and Joel bring you the best in NHL news, opinion and analysis.
The guys have Ben Kerr from Sports Events Guide fill in for Joel, as Joel is away this week.
Sean Tierney joins The 4th Line to tell them about Ryan Stimson’s passing project, looking at locations of passes and if they lead to a shot attempt. Sean has been looking into this data seeing what this tells us, in regards to individual passes leading to shot attempts.
Ben and Carl also cover Jared Bednar coaching the Colorado Avalanche and the signings of Jiri Hudler by the Dallas Stars and Brandon Pirri by the New York Rangers. Las Vegas also started filing trademarks and registering domains for new names, adding Sand Knights to Silver Knights, Desert Knights, Golden Knights, Red Hawks, Night Hawks and Desert Hawks. BODOG released their World Cup of Hockey odds and the guys give their betting tips. Lastly, they start the final 8 of the 4th Line Favorite bracket, as Sidney Crosby, John Tavares, Steven Stamkos and Erik Karlsson move into the 3rd round.
