The Green Bay Blizzard were without a quarterback leading up to their game against the Iowa Barnstormers on Saturday. But, after Jarred Evans moved from defensive back to the position he played in college to salvage what he could of the game.

Despite losing 27-26, Evans showed any doubters he had, that he belonged there.
“It felt comfortable,” Evans said. “I’ve been playing quarterback since I was 15 years old.”
Evans played quarterback at Cincinnati, prior to moving to defensive back in preparation for the NFL Draft.
The Blizzard had been using Evans as a defensive back, but switched him to quarterback when they found out Matt Behrendt would not be available.
I’m not sure what Matt’s doing,” Evans said. “The coaching staff needed me at the time, so I had to do what I had to do and step up.”
And, that’s exactly what Evans did. The New York native threw for 77 yards, and rushed for 79 on 20 attempts.
“When I got back there the team rallied around me,” Evans said. “It was a good look.”
However, it was not good enough to earn a win in Des Moines on Saturday.
“We’re hard fighters, all of us are: offense, defense, special teams. “We came up short today. We shot ourselves in the foot.”
Although, he came up with a loss, Evans was still impressive in the narrow defeat.
The Blizzard will resume their season on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. ET when they take on the six-time defending champion Sioux Falls Storm.
“There a great defense, but we’re also a great offense. We’re going to [try and take away] the penalties and get the job done.”
