Fowler held the lead for the majority of the first round of play. it wasn’t until late in the day Thursday that Gary Woodland grabbed sole ownership on top of the leaderboard. Fan favorites and dark horse candidates kept things close while turning in plenty of opening-round highlights from Thursday at the PGA Championship.
