Canadiens Assign Beaulieu, Bowman To Bulldogs

CANADIENS ASSIGN BEAULIEU, BOWMAN TO BULLDOGS

Defenceman, forward have played 17 games with Canadiens this season combined

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned defenceman Nathan Beaulieu and forward Drayson Bowman to the Bulldogs.

Beaulieu has split this season between the Canadiens and Bulldogs. In 14 games with Montreal, the 21-year-old has recorded two assists and 15 penalty minutes. In two games with Hamilton, the 6-2, 194-pound defenceman has recorded one goal and nine penalty minutes.

In 37 career National Hockey League regular season games with the Canadiens, the Strathroy, Ont. native has recorded six assists and 23 penalty minutes. In 126 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, he has recorded 59 points (15 goals, 44 assists) and 105 penalty minutes.

Beaulieu was selected by the Canadiens in the first round (17th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Bowman has also split this season between the Canadiens and Bulldogs. In three games with Montreal, the 25-year-old has recorded no points or penalty minutes. In 11 games with Hamilton, the 6-0, 195-pound forward has recorded six points (two goals, four assists) and five penalty minutes.

In 179 career NHL regular season games with the Canadiens and Carolina Hurricanes, the Grand Rapids, Mich. native has recorded 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) and 53 penalty minutes. In 197 career AHL regular season games with the Bulldogs, Charlotte Checkers and Albany River Rats, he has recorded 116 points (58 goals, 58 assists) and 153 penalty minutes.

Bowman was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the third round (72nd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Canadiens signed him to a one-year contract on Oct. 2, 2014.

The Bulldogs return to action this weekend when they face a home-and-home series with the Lake Erie Monsters. The ‘Dogs will visit the Monsters at Quicken Loans Arena on Friday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m., then they’ll host the AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche at FirstOntario Centre on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m.
