There was a crucial triumph for Saracens Women as they recorded a vital win over Bristol during another busy weekend for the club.

Saracens Men

There was no match for the Men who had their bye week in the Gallagher Premiership, but they return to action on Saturday with a huge game against table-topping Leicester Tigers at StoneX Stadium.

Saracens Women

Alex Austerberry’s side registered what could prove to be their biggest win of the season so far, as they beat second-placed Bristol Bears 30-26 to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Early tries from Alev Kelter and Alysha Corrigan saw them race in to a 17-0 lead, and despite a fightback from the hosts, May Campbell and Poppy Cleall scored after the break to seal the victory.

That result means Sarries are now six points clear of Bristol with a game in hand, and they can take another step towards a home semi-final when they host Sale Sharks Women at StoneX on Sunday.

Saracens Mavericks

The Mavericks put in another fine display but their winning start to the season came to an end in a narrow 56-59 defeat to Manchester Thunder. Beth Ecuyer-Dale was Player of the Match in front of a raucous home crowd, but they came up just short and will look to bounce back this Saturday when they travel to face Loughborough Lightning.

Internationals

Once again Sarries were well represented in Round Three of the Guinness Six Nations, with seven players in action on Saturday.

Maro Itoje, Jamie George, Elliot Daly, Max Malins and Nick Isiekwe all played for England in their 23-19 win over Wales, with Itoje getting the crucial turnover for the hosts in the final play of the match.

Nick Tompkins scored for the Welsh in their second-half fightback at Twickenham, and there was a special moment for Andy Christie as he made his Scotland debut off the bench in their match against France at BT Murrayfield.

There is now another fallow week in the tournament before Round Four starts on Friday 11th March, with Wales taking on France in Cardiff.
