The second round of the Formula E season – the Putrajaya ePrix is upon us and after the first round, there are a few drivers who need to up their game in order to make their mark on this new series.
The first of whom is the ever popular Brazilian Bruno Senna. After being dominant in qualifying in Beijing an issue put him on the back foot for the rest of the weekend, starting from the back of the grid. Even with the effect of FanBoost, he didn’t make it past the first lap and was squeezed on the inside line, similar to his accident with Sebastien Vettel in Brazil 2012! Nevertheless, a solid points finish is on the cards if all goes well.
He’s ditching his GP2 ride this weekend, and German Daniel Abt will be wanting to reclaim the podium he had taken away from him a few months ago. He has a point to prove.
Australian Matthew Brabham will be stepping into Charles Pic’s cockpit in the Andretti car as the Frenchman must carry out his Lotus F1 duties this weekend. Up against a tough teammate who proved at the last race that he’s no slouch, ‘Matty’ will be wanting to show his potential.
Antonio Felix da Costa will race for the first time with Amlin Aguri. Due to past DTM commitments he was ruled out of the first round but returns to Formula E as a regular. It will be interesting to see what he can get up to. However, Amlin are one of the teams that have struggled in the early stages of the season.
Katherine Legge was one of the winners of FanBoost last month. Although, it didn’t do her much good. Along with fellow female racer Michela Cerutti of the Trulli team, she was pretty anonymous.
Jarno Trulli along with his teammate struggled. Starting from the back, he didn’t get going when the lights went out at the start of the race, and well, there wasn’t much more to say after that.
