2024 MLB First-Round Draft Picks With Baseball Cards

There was uncertainty going into the 2024 MLB Draft.  No one knew who the #1 overall pick was going to be. Beat writers and pundits could speculate. Sports card companies could also speculate. Leaf, Onyx, Onit, Panini, and others made sure to get the rights to produce cards of these touted prospects before the draft.  Here are the top 2024 MLB first-round draft picks with baseball cards.

2024 MLB Draft Picks Who Have Baseball Cards

#1 Pick Travis Bazzana, 2B, Cleveland Guardians

Travis Bazzana, the second baseman out of Oregon State, has over 300 cards you can get your hands on. Leaf, Onyx, and Onit highlight the brands currently producing cards with Bazzana, with Leaf producing the most. Some of these cards are 1/1 that may never surface on the secondary market. To purchase a graded 1/1 autographed card of the first-round pick, you will have to shell out upwards of $400 on eBay. If you want to go the non-graded route, there have been several auctions on eBay ending around $225. For the collectors out there not wanting to break the bank but still hoping to add Bazzana to their collection, there are plenty of cards in the $3 range.

#2 Pick Chase Burns, RHP, Cincinnati Reds

The Reds went with the MLB Pipeline #6 overall prospect out of Wake Forest. Chase Burns has 302 cards to pick from. Many of these cards are from the 2020 Leaf Metal set. There are plenty of autographs and parallels to pick from. There is also a wide selection of Burns in Tennessee uniforms as well as the black and gold of Wake Forest. Contrary to the prices on Travis Bazzana, Burns is very affordable.  There are plenty of certified autographs through Onyx that collectors can grab on eBay for around $12.  An autographed card of Burns, numbered to /3, just ended at $60 on eBay.

#3 Pick Charlie Condon, OF/1B, Colorado Rockies

Despite absolutely raking this season with the Georgia Bulldogs, Charlie Condon only has 16 cards to pick from currently.  Because of the lack of supply, you will have to pay up to get a certified autograph of Condon. There are cheaper custom cards out there if you are into that. The cheapest autographed cards are made by Onyx and are going for $50 on the secondary market. If you want a low-numbered card, like this Onyx Vintage numbered to /5, you will have to fork out $450.

#4 Pick Nick Kurtz, 1B Oakland Athletics

For those out there interested in building their Wake Forest or Oakland Athletics collection, you’re in luck. Nick Kurtz has 328 cards assigned to his name on The Trading Card Database. Kurtz signed several cards for the USA Baseball 14U team and Panini in 2018 if you are into that. His name and signature show up as Nicholas and look like a middle school kid’s autograph, but hey, that’s what it is. Onyx and Wild Card produced game-used and serial-numbered autographed cards of the slugging first baseman. You can pick up these cards for $50 and below on eBay.

#5 Pick Hagen Smith, LHP, Chicago White Sox

White Sox and Arkansas collectors will have to deal with a small supply of cards featuring Hagen SmithOnly 29 cards are in circulation, mostly from the collegiate brand, Onit. Despite the small selection, there is at least some diversity in Smith’s cards.  Collectors can get memorabilia, autographs, and serial-numbered cards with their favorite Razorback. An autographed card will only cost you about $20.  Not bad for a top-five pick.

#6 Pick Jac Caglianone, 1B/LHP, Kansas City Royals

Jac Caglianone was impressive in Omaha this season. Showing off his two-way skills as a pitcher and batter, the baseball community is curious to see if this will translate to the big leagues. The majority of the southpaw’s cards were distributed by Leaf in 2020. Many of those are numbered below /5 and information on sales is limited. There are a lot of custom cards on eBay, however, and these can be scooped up for around $10.

#7 Pick JJ Wetherholt, SS, St. Louis Cardinals

The former West Virginia Mountaineer JJ Wetherholt comes in with just over ten cards in distribution. This number is off though, due to being part of the 2024 Panini Stars and Stripes set. This set was released earlier this month.  If you would like the Kaboom SSP of Wetherholt, prepare to dish out about $150. Due to the small distribution of cards, the few Wetherholt autographs on the secondary market are around $45 and up.

#8 Pick Christian Moore, 2B, Los Angeles Angels

With the 8th overall pick, the Angels went with Volunteer second-baseman, Christian Moore. Like many players on this list, the number of cards Moore has in distribution comes from playing on Team USA. Moore has over 100 cards to choose from. A 1/1 logo patch/auto card of Moore’s went for $300 back in May. While that is a beautiful card, there are plenty of other autographs to pick from in the $30 range. Several parallels from Onit are very affordable for the rainbow collectors out there.

#10 Pick Seaver King, SS, Washington Nationals

With the 10th pick, the Nationals choose Seaver King, another Demon Deacon off the list. King didn’t receive the card treatment until 2024.  King was added to the Panini Stars and Stripes set and has a few Kaboom! cards on “the bay.” If you are willing to pony up a cool $100 you can get one. If autographs and parallels are your speed, you can find some from the same set for about $15.

Other Notable Selections of the 2024 MLB Draft with Baseball Cards

Braden Montgomery, OF, Boston Red Sox – 2024 Panini Stars and Stripes autographs are $50 and up

Jurrangelo Cijntje, RHP/LHP, Seattle Mariners – 2021 Leaf autographs $35 and up
