Hello, fellow baseball degenerates. It is the Monday after a crazy weekend of baseball that hopefully saw you in the green and not in the red. We hope to continue that trend here today as we go over the options we have for the June 26th moneyline plays.
June 26th Moneyline Plays
Headliner: Minnesota Twins @ Atlanta Braves

The Minnesota Twins head to Atlanta to begin the week with a three-game series against the team with the second-best record in baseball, the Atlanta Braves. The Twins are coming off a series victory in Detroit, which also landed their marquee player on the day-to-day list. Sonny Gray will be taking the hill for the Twins tonight. Despite his low ERA of 2.56, he has struggled of late. Gray has an ERA of 4.04 over his last seven starts, giving up 16 earned runs over 35.2 innings.

On the other side of the diamond, the Braves have their defacto ace going in Spencer Strider. He, too, has struggled over his last seven starts but effectively shut down the Philadelphia Phillies in his last start, only giving up one earned run over six innings. Add the Braves’ marquee player, and NL-MVP favorite, being healthy to the mix and you have yourself a heavy favorite to back for some easy money.

Take a Flyer: Chicago White Sox @ Los Angeles Angels

In potentially the most evenly matched game of the day, the Chicago White Sox fly west to face the Los Angeles Angels. The White Sox are coming off a series victory against the Red Sox having outscored the BoSox 10-8. This series seems to be much more evenly matched offensively than the White Sox’s last. On the bump for the ChiSox will be last year’s breakout star, Dylan Cease. Cease struggled early this season but has seemingly turned it around of late. He has a 3.46 ERA over his last seven and is coming off of a six-inning, two runs allowed performance against the Texas Rangers.
The Angels, on the other hand, are coming off a series loss against the Colorado Rockies in which they outscored the series victor! Scoring 25 runs in a single game is an insane feat, especially when you consider they only scored a combined seven runs in the other two games. Reid Detmers will be the Angels’ hurler today. Another pitcher that has performed better of late than for the season as a whole. Detmers has a 3.20 ERA over his last seven games and is coming off a start in which he allowed no earned runs through seven innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers. That won’t help them tonight, however, as the White Sox are starting to find their footing for the season. Take a small flyer on the underdog in this one.

Fade: Milwaukee Brewers @ New York Mets

The Milwaukee Brewers head to Queens to take on the New York Mets. In a game that would be an easy decision in years prior, Colin Rea takes the bump for the Brewers. The Brewers are coming off a series victory against the Cleveland Guardians in which they outscored their opponent 14-9. Rea, however, is coming off of back-to-back starts of allowing four earned runs through five innings. He is a backend rotation arm for the Brewers, so with that in mind, his season ERA of 4.88 is better than a team can normally expect from someone in that role.
The Mets are coming off yet another series loss to the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies. They were outscored 14-11 and began what could potentially be a massive fire sale come the deadline. They will, however, be sending Justin Verlander to the mound. The future first-ballot Hall of Famer is in the midst of his worst season of baseball since 2014. His season ERA of 4.50 does indicate a quality start per outing, however, he has not been that good of late. He carries a 5.18 ERA over his last seven starts, including allowing four earned runs through seven innings to the defending champion Houston Astros, his former team. The Mets are heavy favorites in this one due to the pitching matchup, but season results so far say to stay away from this game.
