For May 7,2024, we will look at the clash between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks from Oklahoma. The Thunder swept the undermanned Pelicans 4-0. On the other hand, the Mavericks fought hard against the undermanned Clippers and won the series 4-2.
Current Form
The Thunder were absolutely dominated against the Pelicans in the first round. Zion Williamson got unfortunately injured in the play-in tournament, and could not play in the series against the Thunder. Nevertheless, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his other teammates showed great composure, and did not look scared on the court. We know how young and inexperienced they are, but they showed great mentality.
The Mavericks won the series against the Clippers 4-2. Kawhi Leonard came back in the second game against the Mavericks. However, he just got injured yet again and could not come back for the series. Luka Dončić looked injured for the first two games. As time went on, Doncic felt better on the court, and the Clippers did not have an answer for him and Kyrie Irving. The Mavericks played great away from home as well, winning two games in Los Angeles.

Looking at the head-to-head meetings, the Thunder and Mavericks have played four times this season against each other. The Thunder won three of them, winning both home games easily. The last time the Thunder lost at home was late in March against the Rockets. We believe that they have a deeper roster, and that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will lead his team to victory and protect the home court.
