Domantas Sabonis becomes the 4th player to record 50+ consecutive double-doubles in a single season over the last 50 seasons, joining:
Kevin Love (53) 11/22/2010 – 03/11/2011
Moses Malone (50) 12/29/1978 – 04/08/1979

The Kings won a respectable 46 games last season, surpassing their projected win total of 44.5. This season came on the heels of a tough playoff defeat by the hands of Stephen Curry and the sixth-seed Golden State Warriors. The Kings, who seemed to be on an upward trajectory, won two fewer games than their incredible 2022-23 season.
Although they only won two fewer games last year than the year before, the results were a bit lackluster. Their 48-win campaign landed them a three seed in the playoffs, while their 46-win campaign from last year landed them a nine seed and an exit during the Play-In Tournament. De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis still showed they are a potent offensive duo, but the Kings saw that just those two were not enough to make noise in the jam-packed Western Conference.
Kings Double Down on Offense
The big Sacramento Kings news from this offseason is the sign-and-trade deal for six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan averaged 24 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.3 rebounds for the Bulls last season. He has continued defying his aging, with a higher scoring average over the last three seasons than the four seasons before.

Other Kings’ offseason moves were picking up Jalen McDaniels and drafting Devin Carter with the number 13 overall pick. They said goodbye to veteran staple Harrison Barnes and defensive specialist Davion Mitchell.
Picking up DeRozan and losing Mitchell is a bold move by the Kings. They picked up another offensive weapon to play alongside Fox and Sabonis but further weakened their already subpar defense. Keon Ellis will be a key defensive piece in Mitchell’s absence. The Kings will be able to put up points in bunches next season, but it remains to be seen whether they’ll be able to stop anyone on defense.
Current Kings Odds
The Kings projected win total line is 46.5 wins. The Sacramento Kings odds for their win total are +114 on the over and -140 on the under. They’ve surpassed their projected win total in four of the last five seasons. They also have gone over their win total for two years in a row.
Winning 46 games last season shows that the line of 46.5 for this season is reasonable. The Kings certainly got better (at least offensively) with the addition of DeRozan. That being said, the Western Conference has gotten stronger around them. Teams like the Grizzlies and Suns are poised for bounce-back years. The top of the West has gotten better as well. Although the Kings should be one of the top offenses in the league, we worry about their ability to outperform last year’s win total.
