Week four in college football isn’t in the books yet, but I have a flight to catch in the morning and won’t be able to include the late games this week. To atone for that, here’s a dog retrieving the tee after Boise State kicks off:
Apparently, this isn’t new, but I just learned about it last week. I give him a 13/10. (If that makes no sense to you, you need to be following @WeRateDogs on Twitter).
Florida State 21, NC State 27
It was a long wait to see Florida State quarterback James Blackman in action. Blackman, you’ll remember, was named the starter after Deondre Francois was injured against Alabama back on the 2nd. The ‘Noles next two games were postponed thanks to Mother Nature. Blackman is the first true freshman to start at quarterback for Florida State since 1985. He completed 22/38 passes for 278 yards and a touchdown, with no picks in the upset by NC State.
Louisville 42, Kent State 3
This game was noteworthy primarily because Louisville QB Lamar Jackson broke the school record for career touchdowns with his 88th. He had 333 yards of offense in the game, yielding to backup Jawon Pass in the fourth quarter. (Their backup’s last name is Pass- how perfect is that?)
Tennessee 17, UMass 13
Things are going from bad to worse for the Vols. Yes, they came away with the win, but a three-point win against a winless MAC team will barely quiet the calls for Butch Jones’ firing.
Texas A&M 49, Arkansas 43
This had the feel of a Baylor-TCU game from about five years ago- whoever has the ball last wins. One of the more entertaining games of the season so far, unless you like defense.
South Carolina 17, Louisiana Tech 16
South Carolina won this game on a field goal with 47 seconds left to play. It was the second field goal the Gamecocks have made this season. Through four games, they’ve attempted eight and made two.

Georgia 31, Mississippi State 3 Wasn’t this supposed to be a good game?
Alabama 59, Vanderbilt 0 I didn’t think this would be a very good game, but I didn’t expect it to be quite this lopsided either. The “Vanderbilt is back!!!!!!” talk may have been a wee bit premature.
