Kamron Beavers Officially Becomes a Rebel

Four-star athlete Noreel White has officially signed with Ole Miss. Can the "do it all" prospect provide an immediate impact in Oxford?

Kamron Beavers has made true on his verbal commitment from late May of this year. Today, he officially became an Ole Miss Rebel. Beavers, a massive body out of Bay Springs, MS, is a coveted piece of Lane Kiffin’s 2024 recruiting class, and for good reason.

Listed as a four-star prospect by 247Sports, he came into Signing Day ranked as the fifth-best prospect in the state of Mississippi. He is also ranked 176th nationally, according to the same service. As a defensive lineman, Beavers should be able to add some depth to the Rebel trenches.

In addition to the Rebels, he held offers from Texas, Alabama, and Colorado, to name a few. Despite these offers, he’s chosen to stay in-state.

State Champion in High School

While Beavers’ high school stats are hard to verify, he did lead Bay Springs to MS 1A state titles as both a sophomore and junior. As a senior, Bay Springs fell in the second round of the state playoffs, finishing the year at 10-2. However, Beavers was the key piece to a defense that only gave up a touch over 16 points per contest.

In high school, Beavers’ massive frame allowed him the ability to dominate on the inside. The question is whether or not he can use that size to his advantage at the next level.

Beavers Provides Immediate Depth

The Ole Miss defensive line is set to be a force next season with the pieces added through the portal. The Rebels do find themselves in need of depth, though. Beavers will provide the immediate depth that is needed. Standing at 6’3″, 305 pounds, he’s an ideal interior defensive lineman at the next level, which is where he’ll line up. If he can put more weight on his frame, it’ll be a plus. But it isn’t a necessity.

In addition to his size, he shows great strength and explosiveness off the line. Being on the interior, this strength is far more important than having elite speed. However, while he doesn’t have tremendous overall speed, he does have the quickness to break through to the backfield in a hurry. If he can maintain that strength and explosiveness, he’ll quickly become an integral part of this Rebel defensive line.

With Ole Miss’ transfer class, especially on the defensive line, Beavers won’t be a day one starter. But you can expect to see him take plenty of snaps during his freshman season. For Ole Miss fans, this isn’t a problem, as the defense should be good enough to make a run next season.

Expect Beavers to add depth for the defense. This will aid in that push towards the Playoff.
