Huskies Land Washington and Green from Transfer Portal

Washington landed the commitment of three-star quarterback Kini McMillan who joins Dash Beierly in the Huskies' class of 2025.

Washington continues to add players to its roster in May, with a couple more transfer portal players from Arizona. Jedd Fisch brought nine of his former Wildcat players and early enrollees to Washington when he took the job in January. He added two more over the weekend in running back Jordan Washington and wide receiver Kevin Green Jr. Both of these former Wildcats will be adding critical depth to Seattle in positions with room for such pieces.

Jordan Washington – RB

A four-star recruit in the class of 2024, Washington was tabbed the number 17 overall running back of his class. Out of Jordan High School in Long Beach, California, Washington has track speed at the running back position. He ran a 10.44-second 100-meter dash at his state competition in 2023. His personal best time was clocked at 10.31 seconds. Washington was most productive as a junior in the 2022 season. He tallied 1,388 rushing yards that season with 17 touchdowns and an average of 13.5 yards per touch. Overall, in high school, Washington had 38 rushing scores, nine reception touchdowns, and 4,050 total yards.

Washington’s high school tape shows a guy who is shifty at the point of attack and can quickly burst into the second level of the defense. Once there, he runs by everyone with that track speed. Washington sheds arm tackles, and his quickness allows him to make defenders miss without slowing down. The Arizona transfer will join a running back room led by Jonah Coleman and Cameron Davis, two physical running backs. Adam Mohammed was another early enrollee in the 2024 class who transferred from Arizona to Washington this winter. Adding Washington to the group solidifies future depth at running back for the Huskies. He also gives the backfield an element of speed that it didn’t previously have.

Kevin Green – WR

Washington has its “X” position targets at wide receiver in Jeremiah Hunter and Denzel Boston. But the Huskies needed a little more depth at slot. Green was a three-star recruit in the class of 2022 who redshirted as a freshman and caught eight passes for 97 yards last season for Arizona. He played high school football at Bishop Alemany in Mission Hills, California, where he got action on both sides of the football. He caught four touchdowns at wide receiver in his senior season and had over 700 reception yards. Green is a versatile athlete who also played safety in high school.

Green will be the best fit for the slot wide receiver position at Washington. He joins a wide receiver room led by veteran Giles Jackson in the slot. Green will bolster the depth by joining redshirt freshman Keith Reynolds, who played in just two games last season. The Arizona transfer adds 14 games of experience at wide receiver, with two starts under his belt. Green’s familiarity with Fisch’s offense will aid in his post-Spring move to Washington out of the transfer portal. Getting a year to learn from Jackson while competing with Reynolds and some of the even younger players at the slot position solidifies the receiver room going forward.
