Wilshere’s Injury Woes

Since making his debut for the club in 2008, Wilshere has been injured for a total of 1,018 days and has been unfit to play in 155 games as a result. These injuries have severely hampered his progress and restricted him to just over 150 Premier League appearances in the ten years since he made his professional debut. (x) will be hopeful that the 34-times-capped England international will be able to stay fit and if he can, then they may have gotten one of the coups of the summer by signing him on a free transfer.

Wonder Kid

Jack Wilshere was tipped for greatness following his debut as a 16-year-old for Arsenal. An impressive season away on loan at Bolton was followed by a world-class display against Barcelona back in 2011. Injuries have unquestionably hindered his progress and at the age of 26, he has been omitted from the English squad for the upcoming World Cup that is to be held in Russia.

Considering that the current English side has no midfielder similar in style to Wilshere it would have come as a big blow to the player who has drawn comparisons to the likes of Iniesta and Xavi. Former manager Arsene Wenger described him as having “Spanish technique, but an English heart.” Wilshere will, without doubt, improve the (x) midfield with his all-action displays. It’s just a case of how much he has regressed from the early promise that he once showed.
