Ahmed Musa signs for Al Nassr
Ahmed Musa has been signed by Al Nassr from Premier League club, Leicester City. The Nigerian moves for an undisclosed fee and signs a 4-year contract with the Saudi club. The 25-year-old striker has already been capped 72 times by his country and was part of Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup squad.
Musa joined Leicester in 2016 for a club record £16.6million, joining from CSKA Moscow. He burst onto the scene for the foxes during a pre-season friendly against Barcelona, breezing past Sergi Roberto and Javier Mascherano before coolly slotting past keeper Jordi Masip. However, once the season started he struggled to nail down a starting spot in the East Midlands, restricted to substitute appearances. With playing time dwindling under Claude Puel, he re-joined CSKA Moscow on loan in January 2018.

Impact of Musa
Musa found himself playing as a winger for Leicester, a role he also plays for Nigeria. His speed makes him a dangerous option out wide, but his dribbling is often clumsy and his decision making is poor. He thrives through the middle as the focal point of the attack, preferring to chase balls into the channel.
Ahmed Musa has bundles of pace and when on form can cause havoc running at defenders. Preferring to play on the shoulder of the last defender, Musa often finds himself getting in behind the defence. However, he only managed 2 Premier League goals for Leicester, largely due to an unpredictable first touch and erratic finishing. This may have been due to a loss of confidence, as his numbers for CSKA Moscow were more impressive. He managed 42 goals in 125 appearances before departing in 2016, adding 6 in 10 games during his loan spell. If playing regularly, Musa has proven that he has the ability to score consistently.
Musa also excelled and displayed his talent on the international stage in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Iceland.
