Transfer Rumours: Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain

James Rodriguez Transfer Rumours

Last Word on Football’s Transfer Rumours brings you the latest rumblings from the world of football. In today’s edition, Fiorentina’s new owner has poured water on rumours of Federico Chiesa leaving for Juventus. There are also rumours about James Rodriguez and Gianluigi Buffon moving to Italy next season.

Today’s Transfer Rumours

Federico Chiesa Staying Put

Fiorentina’s young Italian starlet Federico Chiesa is angling for a move to Juventus. The 21-year-old is interesting in making the jump, with several reports in Italy saying his agents have already reached an agreement with Juventus. But that was not the end of this story.

His current club Fiorentina are going through a tectonic shift. An American businessman Rocco Commisso has just completed his purchase of the club. When he has asked about the rumours involving Chiesa, “I’m here to win, not to sell off. Federico Chiesa is an asset to the club.” Sounds like a pretty clear answer there.

James Rodriguez Transfer Rumours Spread

It was confirmed this morning that Bayern Munich would not pick up their option to buy James Rodriguez from Real Madrid. The Colombian international had been on loan at Bayern for the last two seasons. But Zinedine Zidane does not want James in his Real Madrid squad, so he will be on the move.

He has been heavily linked to both Juventus and Napoli. Juventus have had interest in the past and the fact that his agent is the same as Cristiano Ronaldo‘s has only intensified that interest. In Naples, he would be reuniting with former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, who seems to be the one pushing for Napoli to sign him.

Wherever he goes will be determined by Real Madrid’s asking price. The Spanish giants have not leaked an official number. But as Marca reported they are determined to sell James this summer.

Buffon Leaves Paris

Gianluigi Buffon and Paris Saint-Germain have announced that their time together has come to an end. The 41-year-old keeper had signed a two-year-deal with PSG last summer. But after a poor performance against Manchester United in the Champions League, the two have decided to end their relationship.

Buffon announced his departure on Instagram saying, “Today my adventure outside Italy ends: PSG offered me a contract renewal that I didn’t feel it was right to sign given my desire for new experiences and professional challenges.”

It is not yet clear what those professional challenges will be but in his statement, he did say he wanted to return to Italy.
