Hugo Lloris Returns to London
Recovery From Tonsillitis Continues
The Frenchman stated he had felt ill shortly after Spurs arrived in Singapore last Thursday and has not trained since arriving in Asia. Lloris missed Spurs’ 3-2 win against Juventus at the Singapore National Stadium on Sunday.
The rest of the Spurs players flew to Shanghai on a 9.45am Singapore Airlines flight this morning, but Lloris returned to London.
Spurs fans offered their support in numbers to Lloris on Twitter:
Get well soon Hugo!
Being ill in the Singapore and China heat would be unbearable ?#COYS— Matt French (@MattyFrench82) July 22, 2019
Must be serious if he’s coming home. Anti-biotics or an op? Need to get it sorted. Either way, get well soon Hugo ?

A statement released by Spurs said Lloris is “expected to return to training with the first team squad following our pre-season tour of Asia, which concludes against Manchester United in Shanghai on Thursday.”
Tottenham’s International Champions Cup began against Maurizio Sarri’s side on Sunday. Tanguy Ndombele made his debut for Spurs but Harry Kane stole the headlines as he scored a late winner from the halfway line to seal the victory.
Erik Lamela gave Spurs the lead; however, two goals in four minutes from Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo turned the tide after half-time.
Lucas Moura converted Ndombele’s excellent pass soon afterwards before Kane scored a stunning winner.
Spurs are set to take on Real Madrid in the Audi Cup in Munich next Tuesday. The London side then play Inter Milan in their final pre-season friendly on August 4.
