Bradford City have made their second January signing. The Bantams have signed winger Dylan Mottley-Henry on a permanent deal. He arrives from Barnsley on a deal until the end of the season.
Bradford City Sign Winger Dylan Mottley-Henry
The Deal
Bradford announced via their website they had Mottley-Henry, who returns to the club on a permanent deal having begun his career with the Bantams.
The winger has signed a deal until the end of the season. He will bring creativity and pace as Bradford look to secure an instant return to League One.
Mottley-Henry left Bradford in 2016 to join Barnsley but only made a few appearances for the Tykes. He has spent time out on loan at Tranmere Rovers, Chesterfield and Harrogate Town.
The winger arrives as Bradford’s second signing after Luke McGee joined in the earlier stages of the window. The 22-year-old is ready to make his return and get Bradford firing.
The Bantams form has been disappointing in recent weeks. Bradford are winless in six games and are drawing far too many games. Overall, it’s just two wins in their last 11 games. Gary Bowyer is hoping Mottley-Henry can be the man to make the difference in the next few months.
He is eligible to make his debut this weekend against Oldham Athletic.
What Was Said
Speaking to the Bradford website about his return, Mottley-Henry said: “I am delighted to have re-signed for the club and there is definitely a feeling of unfinished business.
“I look forward to kicking on and performing as well as I possibly can.”
Manager Gary Bowyer added: “Dylan began his career here, so is desperate to come back in and make an impression.
“He brings a lot of pace and power, which you cannot have enough of in a football club. We are delighted to be able to welcome him.”
