Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 26 is a slightly weird one considering it is staggered in two weeks. Even though the deadline is this Saturday, the gameweek will finish on the February 17 with the Chelsea v Manchester United match. Read until the end to find out how best to set your team up for this protracted gameweek.
Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 26 Picks
Goalkeepers
Dean Henderson is the standout pick this week in goal. He has a very good chance of a clean sheet. In fact, he is a great pick for the next few gameweeks so if possible one should try to bring him in.
At a higher price range, Alisson has been nothing short of amazing for Liverpool this season, especially in the last ten weeks. The Brazillian has only one blank in that period and has kept nine clean sheets.
Defenders
Everyone’s favourite FPL defender pick, John Lundstram, was dropped for new signing Sander Berge last week. The previous week also saw Lundstram benched. This is a massive concern for the 44.8% that own him. What makes it worse is the kind run of fixtures that Sheffield United are enjoying. The form that they are in makes their defenders really enticing prospects, so George Baldock and Enda Stevens should also come into consideration.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk are all fantastic options away at Norwich City. The rampaging Reds hardly let any goals in these days and there is huge potential for attacking points as well.
David Luiz has performed really well under Mikel Arteta and has a decent shout of a clean sheet at home to Newcastle United. Héctor Bellerín is fit and has played well in the last couple of games as well. Arsenal seem much more solid at the back these days so one could consider one of them this week.
Manchester City should keep a clean sheet at home to West Ham United. However, it is a very difficult task to pick a defender from that side as none of them start consistently.
Mason Holgate, Lucas Digne and Djibril Sidibé are all decent options given the fixture but the reality is Everton have been struggling at the back a lot of late.
Midfielders
Mohamed Salah is back to his best and has been scoring goals for fun. He was not able to reach the stellar heights that are expected of him earlier in the season but now he is in full flow, with 30 points from the last couple of matches. He seems a must-have for the rest of the season.
Kevin De Bruyne is a great option this week. Manchester City might get a huge win in this match and the Belgian will likely profit. Raheem Sterling has been in a slump for quite a while now and it will be interesting to see whether he keeps his place. He is also classed as a doubt.
Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez could also be worth considering but Pep Guardiola‘s rotation policy remains a worry, as always.
Richarlison could be a good pick this week at home to Crystal Palace. Everton’s attacking play has been good recently.
Adama Traoré, Leandro Trossard, John Fleck, Jack Grealish and Son Heung-min are also worth considering.
Strikers
Sergio Aguero should be an amazing pick for this week. If he starts, we could be looking at a monster score. However, there is always that worry with Gabriel Jesus around. In addition, Manchester City will have a blank Gameweek 28. So, definitely some things to ponder.
Roberto Firmino has been in really great form recently. He contributes in many ways and last week he got three assists.
Raúl Jiménez returns decent points on most weeks and he could be a good option to have over the rest of the season.
Danny Ings has not scored in the last three league matches. That could change this week as he faces his old side, Burnley.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the best, sometimes the only, source of goals for Arsenal. The Gunners have a good-looking run of fixtures coming up so the Gabonese could be a decent option to have in your side. His owners will expect a goal or two from him this week.
