According to reports from Joe Bernstein of the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is willing to let striker, Harry Kane, leave in the summer transfer window.

Kane Asking Price Has Been Set
Levy has set Kane’s price at an astounding £200 million. This fee would go way above the current British transfer record of £89 million paid by Manchester United for Paul Pogba. The fee would also beat the current world record £198 million that PSG paid FC Barcelona for Neymar.
Tottenham Need the Money from the Transfer
While Kane is an integral part of Tottenham’s team, he may have to be sold to help ease the club’s financial worries. The coronavirus pandemic has financially affected clubs all around the globe, but Tottenham have been hit even harder than most as they are still paying for their newly built £1 billion stadium. They reportedly still owe £637 million on the stadium and another £83 million on transfer fees.
Tottenham have already had to take measures to deal with these financial issues. They were one of the first top-flight clubs to furlough non-playing staff. They did this despite the negative publicity because of how badly they needed to save the money. While Tottenham have set £200 million as Kane’s price, they may be willing to lower it if teams are only willing to offer lower. Since Spurs are in such a bad financial situation, other teams have more power when negotiating transfers.
Kane Open to a Move
On an Instagram Livestream on Jamie Redknapp’s account, he admitted that he was open to leaving the team if he felt they weren’t progressing. In the 2018/19 season, they finished 4th in the Premier League table and made it all the way to the Champions League final.
However, this year the Spurs were knocked out of the Champions League before even reaching the quarter-finals, and they currently sit at 8th in the Premier League table. It seems the Spurs have regressed, making a Kane departure seem all the more likely.
Dimitar Berbatov, a former Spurs striker who made the move to the Red Devils in 2008, said: ‘I see a lot of similarities in the situation I went through and what is happening with Kane at the minute.’
While £200 million is a huge asking price, especially during this financially tough period, a Kane move to Manchester United is becoming more and more likely. With Kane himself admitting he’d be open to a move, Berbatov tipping Kane for the transfer, and Levy letting it happen, Kane might just be a Red Devil next season.
