Queens Park Rangers have made their first signing of the summer by bringing in Leicester City midfielder George Thomas. The 23-year-old arrives at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on a free transfer from the Premier League side and has signed a three-year contract with the option of a further year.

Thomas’ Career
Thomas started out at Coventry City and became a regular in the team during the 2016/17 season. His debut came a couple of years previously, in a League One match against Leyton Orient.
The Wales international found success in the newly-named EFL Trophy that season, scoring his first goal for the club in the tie against Wycombe Wanderers. He also netted in the semi-final tie against the Chairboys, setting up Coventry’s first Wembley final since 1987.
In that game against Oxford United, Thomas continued his scoring form in the competition, netting the winner in a 2-1 success.
This caught the eye of Leicester, who signed Thomas on a three-year deal. He went into their development side but did not make it out to record a first-team appearance for the Foxes. Instead, he spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Scunthorpe United and then made two appearances under Alan Pardew at Dutch side ADO Den Haag at the back end of this season.
At 23, Thomas needs to play regular football to get his career back on track, and with QPR likely to lose star man Eberechi Eze this summer, that is something they can certainly provide.

Speaking to the club website about his move, Thomas said: “I am over the moon to get this done. QPR is a big club and I can’t wait to get started.
“I want to play as many games as I can. Seeing the young boys coming through here, getting games and improving, definitely had an impact on my decision.
“Hopefully I can follow them.”
