Otis Khan Joins Tranmere Rovers as Ollie Banks Signs New Contract

Otis Khan

Tranmere Rovers have announced the signing of midfielder Otis Khan after he left Mansfield Town. Rovers beat off competition from teams in League One as well as League Two to land the former Yeovil Town star, who joins Tranmere on a one-year contract. As well, the club have confirmed that fellow midfielder Ollie Banks has signed a new one-year deal.

Khan Arrives From Mansfield

Despite being just 24-years-old, Khan has plenty of experience in League Two having made over 60 appearances for Yeovil at this level. After leaving the Glovers in 2018, he linked up with Mansfield and helped them finish fourth in 2018/19 before a more disappointing campaign last season saw the Stags finish 21st.

His arrival gives more attacking options to new Tranmere manager Mike Jackson, and upon completing his move, Khan told the club website: “I am delighted, it is an exciting time and I am really happy to be here. A number of factors were behind my decision to join Tranmere Rovers, but the main reason was the manager.

“The way that he works and I had a really good chat with him and his coaching staff. The way that he works and the goals he has set for the team.”

Banks ‘Can’t Wait’ to Get Going

A potential partner for Khan in the middle is Ollie Banks after he signed a new one-year deal with the club.

He told the club website: “Obviously with what happened last season and the uncertain times we have had in recent months around the world, it is nice to be back at the Campus.

“It is nearly five months since I was last at the training ground, it is good to see the boys and I can’t wait to get back playing football for Tranmere Rovers.”
