Rotherham United have confirmed that manager Paul Warne and his assistant, Richie Barker, have signed contract extensions with the club. The pair only had ten months remaining on their deals but have now committed their future to the Millers until 2023. In addition, first-team/development coach Matt Hamshaw has signed a new deal with the club.

Warne’s Rotherham Spell
Warne has been in charge of the club since April 2017, when he was appointed on a permanent basis following a brief temporary spell. Barker joined his coaching staff on the final day of the 2016/17 season.
Together, Warne and Barker have guided Rotherham to two promotions, both out of League One to the Championship. The most recent of the two was last season when they finished second, behind Coventry City, on points per game.
Life in the second tier started well, too, as the Millers recorded a late 1-0 win at fellow promoted side Wycombe Wanderers to get their league campaign off to a good start.
Chairman Delighted to See Warne Stay On
Rotherham chairman Tony Stewart was understandably delighted to see Warne remain for the long-term at the club and is full of praise for the work that he and Barker have done together.
He told the club website: “I’m ever so pleased to get them over the line because they are proven, tried and tested. They started with us three seasons ago now. There’s good team work between the three of them, they work well together and they’ve proven themselves.
“Paul Warne and his staff are young, vibrant, intelligent and part of the progress we have made. There’s a real good feel factor around them. The communication is superb, they want what we want and they are going nowhere.”
