Antonio Rudiger could move to Tottenham Hotspur on loan if he signs a one-year contract extension with Chelsea, according to Dan Kilpatrick from the Evening Standard.

New Deal for Rudiger
Rudiger currently has 18 months left on his current contract at Chelsea. The new extension will protect his value if he returns to Chelsea following a loan spell at Tottenham.
Chelsea reportedly want to avoid Rudiger returning to Stamford Bridge with just six months left on his contract.
The German international appears to be out of Frank Lampard‘s plans this season. New Blues signing Thiago Silva remains Lampard’s first choice in central defence alongside Andreas Christiensen, Fiyako Tomori and Kurt Zouma.
Rudiger is yet to make an appearance for Chelsea this season in all competitions. He was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening day of the season. But the German defender has not featured in any of Chelsea’s matchday squads since.
Spurs Desperate for Defenders
Spurs missed out on their top target, Inter Milan centre-back Milan Škriniar. Both clubs could not agree on a suitable valuation for Škriniar, which Inter placed at £45 million.
The North Londoners attention has since turned to Rudiger, who is eager to play first-team football ahead of the 2021 European Championship with the view of remaining in the Germany squad. The move would benefit both parties with Jose Mourinho keen to bolster his defensive options.
Despite falling out of favour this season, Rudiger has been a regular at Stamford Bridge since his arrival from Roma in 2017. The 27-year-old has played over 100 games for Chelsea and made 26 appearances for the Blues in all competitions last season.
A move from west to north London would prove controversial. Rudiger was reportedly subject to racist abuse from Spurs supporters when the teams met last season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The incident was investigated by the Metropolitan Police and Tottenham.
