The defender, who is waiting for international clearance, has signed a three-year deal and could make his debut as soon as Saturday when Swansea square off against Huddersfield Town. One for the Future
At 20 years old, Latibeaudiere arrives as one for both the present and future at Swansea City; a place slowly building a reputation for welcoming young talents before seeing them prosper.
The defender brings with him the experience of a top league, too, after spending last season on loan in the Eredivisie with FC Twente where he made five appearances.
The permanent switch to Swansea should see Latibeaudiere progress further than he did during previous loan spells, however, as he finally receives the game time necessary to fulfil his potential.
He arrives during a positive moment for Swansea, too, with the Welsh side sitting fourth and unbeaten with 10 points from the opening four games.
Swansea Eyeing Promotion
After missing out on promotion last season, Swansea will be desperate to go again in the playoffs this came. So far, their form has been promising, but it’s a long season ahead full of ups and downs.
The signing of Latibeaudiere will certainly help things, however, as a youthful side aim to take the Liberty Stadium by storm this season. Should the former Manchester City man reach his ever-increasing potential, Swansea will have themselves a top defender, capable of taking them to new heights.
First things first, though, the aim will be to stretch their unbeaten run, starting with the game against the struggling Huddersfield Town on Saturday; a day that could see Latibeaudiere come in to make his debut.
