In a recent press conference, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Jesse Lingard is in self-isolation after contact with someone who has since tested positive, among other news.

Jesse Lingard Struggling to Get Game Time This Season
Lingard, with just over a year left on his contract, has been struggling to get into the starting team for Manchester United this season.
The Englishman has only started once for United in 2020/21, managing 99 minutes over two Carabou cup games in total. He has only been named on the bench twice in United’s Premier League campaign so far.
It looks as though his situation will not be improving in the immediate future, with the 27-year-old now having to quarantine after contact with a positive case.
Lingard does not seem to fit with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans for Manchester United, and it is likely that they will look to offload him at some point in the next few months.
Paul Pogba Returning From a Knock
Also in this press conference, Solskjaer said that he expects to call upon Paul Pogba in United’s upcoming Champions League fixture against Istanbul Basaksehir.
Solskjaer explained: “We hope he’s going to be available, he trained this morning. See if there’s any reaction when we report tomorrow”.
The French midfielder struggled with an ankle issue last year, but will hope to put that behind him as he tries to get going after a rough start to the season.
Solskjaer Gives Other Injury Information
The United manager gave a further insight into the rest of the team’s injury list heading into their Champions League clash.
“Still Luke Shaw is out, Phil Jones is out. Jesse is still self-isolating after being in contact with a positive [coronavirus] case,” he informed the press.
“There’s one or two little things we need to look at in the morning but hopefully everyone else is available.”
Before the Manchester side’s weekend fixture against West Bromwich Albion, the fitness of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof had been uncertain, and they may be rested against Istanbul in order to aid their recovery. Mason Greenwood will also be starting to get more game time soon after a disrupted start to the campaign.
