West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that they have appointed Sam Allardyce as their new Head Coach. The former England boss has agreed an 18-month contract to take over at The Hawthorns.
The announcement follows the news of Slaven Bilic’s sacking by the Baggies earlier today.

Right Man for the Job
There are few people better equipped at steering a club away from the Premier League relegation zone than Sam Allardyce.
The 66-year-old has been without a job since leaving Everton in May 2018. He was tasked with steering the Toffees away from the regulation zone after a poor start to the season, and he did so. Allardyce won ten of his 26 games in charge, as Everton eventually finished eighth in the Premier League.
After his short spell as England manager – he lasted just one game – Allardyce returned to club management with Crystal Palace. He was once again tasked with the fight of relegation at Selhurst Park, fending it off once again. One defeat in eight games during the second half helped his cause, as Palace eventually finished 14th in the top-flight.
As a result, Allardyce’s recent record in club management makes for good reading for West Brom fans. His football is effective and can help steer them away from their current flirtation with relegation.

Speaking about the appointment to the West Bromwich Albion website, Luke Dowling, the club’s Technical Directo, said: “In Sam we have a man who has a proven Premier League pedigree with a track record of improving every club he has managed.
“We believe and, more importantly, Sam believes we have a group of players that have the quality needed to give the club its best chance of Premier League survival.”
Allardyce is set to take his first training on Thursday, before taking his seat in the dugout against Aston Villa on Sunday evening.
