Despite reports linking him with a move away from the club, Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has said that he is ‘not worried’ about the transfer speculation surrounding Emiliano Buendia.
Speaking after the Canaries’ 1-0 victory over Barnsley, which took them four points clear at the top of the Championship, Farke said when asked about the midfielder: “He is our player. He is on a long-term contract. He is Happy here. I am not worried about the speculation.”
Farke ‘Not Worried’ About Buendia Transfer Speculation
Buendia Transfer Rumours No Surprise
With Norwich well on their way back to the so-called promised land of the Premier League– led by Buendia in midfield- the transfer rumours come as little surprise.
The 24-year-old has been a central point to the recent success at Carrow Road with seven goals and seven assists in 19 games and has the quality of a player ready-made for top-flight football.
Even last season, amid so much Norwich misery which concluded in relegation, Buendia was one of the few shining lights.
Many expected Argentine to depart in the summer- avoiding a season in the Championship– but, instead, he stayed and looks set to stay put once more this month.
Plenty of Suitors
Daniel Farke may have been quick to shut down any talk of transfer speculation, but that won’t prevent several on-watching admirers from adding Buendia to their shopping lists.
Whether it be this month’s window, or in the summer, the speculation surrounding the Argentine’s future will only increase – as will Beundia’s ability.
For now, his focus will be on taking the Canaries back to the Premier League, just one season on from suffering relegation back down to England’s second tier.
Should Norwich complete their promotion quest, their chances of keeping ahold of Buendia will increase significantly- making it a priority this season.
