Following his FA Cup third-round victory over Watford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave a Manchester United injury update, which included the likes of Eric Bailly and Paul Pogba, as well as Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof. Other than Lindelof, all of the aforementioned players have proven injury-prone during their time at Old Trafford, and it looks as though each may be set to spend some more time on the sidelines as Solskjaer confirms that they are struggling with injury.

Bailly Injured During the Game
Just before half-time, Bailly fell to the floor after goalkeeper Dean Henderson came off his line to punch the ball clear. It seems that there was contact between Henderson’s knee and Bailly’s head, and those watching assumed that the Ivorian centre-back may have suffered a concussion and that no risks should be taken.
However, while he did suffer an injury, it was not to his head. After the game, Solskjaer said: “Think it is his neck and not concussion. Hopefully not out for too long.”
Despite showing much talent, the 26-year-old defender has struggled immensely with injuries since moving to Manchester, and that has greatly hindered his progress. Recently, he started four straight United games for the first time since 2017, but he is unlikely to be able to continue his recent good form due to yet another injury.
It remains to be seen how long he will be out for.
Update on Others
Solskjaer also issued an injury update on various other United players who did not feature against Watford.
When asked about the absences of Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, and Paul Pogba, the Norwegian manager replied saying they were “injured”.
Fans will hope that none of these injuries are too serious, with all of the players vital in the Red Devils’ first-team, and able to make a huge impact in their top-of-the-table clash with Liverpool on January 19th.
