Good Deal For Both Parties

The League One side are believed to be quite interested in taking the former Manchester United man on a short-term deal – the only issue could be the new wage cap, meaning that the third tier side may struggle in terms of affording the wages and producing the funds for a move.

However, if they can stump up the cash then it could be a good deal that would suit all parties. The 25-year old has plenty of experience at Championship level and could help Ipswich push on towards the top end of the table. In addition, it would be good for the player to get more gametime, having failed to nail down a regular starting spot at Deepdale.

Josh Harrop Could Get More Gametime at Ipswich

This season, Harrop has only featured five times, with just the one start. He featured more prominently for the Lilywhites last season but injuries have hampered his ability to keep a consistent place in the starting line-up.

Harrop though has shown that he can be capable of producing the goods. Starting off at Man United, he made his debut as a 20-year old and bagged on his first start for the club.

However, the Red Devils decided there was no place for the attacking midfielder in their first-team and let him leave on a free transfer. He then made the switch to North End, where he featured 38 times in his first campaign, with three goal contributions.

A year later, he struggled- making just eight appearances (largely down to injury). After breaking back into the side a season later, he is back to sitting largely on the sidelines with Preston.

Struggled With Injuries at Preston

A lot of his struggle at Preston has come down to these injuries, meaning he has made more appearances off the bench rather than making starts. If he can go out on loan to Ipswich for the remainder of the campaign, it could give him the experience he needs to push on as a player upon a return to Preston next season.
