Ivic Would Replace Tony Pulis as Sheffield Wednesday Manager

Vladimir Ivic was only dismissed as Watford manager last month but it looks like the Serbian is set to replace Tony Pulis at Sheffield Wednesday.

According to the report, an agent working on behalf of the Owls made an enquiry to Ivic’s representatives at the end of December. The timing would have coincided with the sacking of Pulis, who was in charge at Hillsborough for just 45 days.

Despite the contact, Ivic is keeping his cards close to his chest. With two managers already departed from Wednesday this season, the 43-year-old is uncertain about the role given the lack of stability at board level.

Ivic at Watford

Ivic took charge at Watford in the summer, following their relegation from the Premier League. Despite being dismissed after just 22 games, the Hornets were sitting in the playoffs with nine wins on the board.

But defeat at Huddersfield Town and questions over whether he had lost the dressing room ultimately led to his departure.

Wednesday Woes

As mentioned, Sheffield Wednesday are searching for their third manager of the season. After Garry Monk departed and Tony Pulis was sacked, the Owls remain in a precarious position in the Championship.

The South Yorkshire club are above the relegation zone only on goal difference, despite three wins from their last four games.

The Owls take on Everton in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday, January 24 before league fixtures against Coventry City, Preston North End and AFC Bournemouth.
