Dele Alli has reportedly taken another step towards leaving Tottenham Hotspur and reuniting with Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain.
Fabrizio Romano reports that talks between the parties are now “advanced” and that a deal is close to being struck which would see Alli move to the French capital for the remainder of the season.
There would, though, be no option to buy in this reported agreement, and Spurs are also refusing to let Alli go anywhere unless they can bring in a suitable replacement.

Replacement is the Stumbling Block
Spurs wanting a replacement for Alli if he were to leave appears to be what is stopping this deal from going through.
While Alli is struggling to get minutes on the pitch, his departure would leave Spurs with significantly less back-up if they were to suffer injuries – particularly if Gedson Fernandes also leaves, as has been reported.
Alli has been pushing to leave throughout the January window and wants to reunite with his former Spurs boss at PSG.
However, there have been no solid reports of incomings at Spurs thus far, meaning that a replacement for Alli looks increasingly unlikely as we edge towards the final days of the transfer window.
It could be the case that Spurs and PSG fully agree on a move for Alli and that he doesn’t go because there is no incoming.
If he does end up staying at Spurs for the remainder of the season, the likelihood of him sealing a permanent move away in the summer grows as Jose Mourinho has shown little sign of restoring him to his plans for this campaign.
Should the move to PSG go through, though, and he can impress in Ligue 1, he may earn himself another chance back in North London.
