Derby County have released official statements confirming the loan signings of both Manchester City forward Patrick Roberts and Everton midfielder Beni Baningime. Both deals have been confirmed until the end of the season.

Signings Required to Boost Derby Survival Bid
New boss Wayne Rooney has immediately got down to business by starting a mini overhaul of his Derby County squad. Officially appointed in January, Rooney has enjoyed a positive start to his career in management, managing to lift Derby out of The Championship relegation zone to their current position of 19th.
Speaking after Derby’s 1-0 victory over Bristol City, Rooney was bullish about the prospect of adding to his squad before the transfer window shut. Speaking to the Derby Telegraph, Rooney stated: “I am hoping to have players in, I am fairly confident there will be (players in).”
Asked if it will be more than one signing, Rooney said: “I hope so, we need more than one.
“We are quite far down the line with a few players. I have got the ability to bring more than one in – two, three or four players if I want. “I am not looking to bring players in to make numbers up, I want to make sure the players I bring in are the right players for the club. We have been working on that.”
Exciting Roberts and Baningime Signings
Patrick Roberts signed for Manchester City back in 2015 for a fee of £12 million. Roberts was highly touted as a teenager and was tipped to go right to the top. Still only 23, Roberts enjoyed a successful loan period at Celtic but has experienced many twists and turns throughout his young career. Capped throughout the England age groups, Roberts will be looking get his career back on track and take his game to the next level under the guidance of Rooney.
Beni Baningime, 22, is a product of Everton’s academy. Joining the club at nine-years-old, Baningime has amassed over 80 appearances across the first team, U23 and U18 teams. He has made eight Premier League appearances, all given to him by David Unsworth. Frozen out by former boss Marco Silva, Baningime has found it difficult to break back into the first-team fold. He will add competition to Derby’s midfield and he will hope to play a key role in moving Derby further away from the relegation zone.
Morgan Whittaker Leaves Club
Derby have confirmed that forward Morgan Whittaker has left the club to join Swansea City. Whittaker has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Welsh Club. He leaves Derby after spending 12 years at the club coming through its academy.
