Paris Saint-Germain Confident of Luring Sergio Ramos to Parc de Princes but Face Competition

Real Madrid are not willing to change from their contract policy for over-30s, which is to offer season-long contract extensions, whereas the captain has demanded it be changed and he is offered two for his exceptional commitment and form to the club.

PSG do face stiff competition for the signature of the Spanish defender with Manchester United also rumoured to be in the conversation of luring him to Old Trafford.

Pochettino Looks to Take Advantage of Contract Stalemate Between Ramos and Madrid

The Argentinian manager was questioned about the possibility of signing Ramos by Spanish publication Marca, he claimed: “PSG’s strategy has been the same for years, ever since we signed Ronaldinho: to look at market opportunities and bring in those who can improve what we have.

“We will see in the coming months. Here, Ramos would find a great club with the obsession to always win. PSG are one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“Nothing else matters here except winning. Winning the Champions League has been a dream for 50 years; we have never won it. Even when I was a player it was an obsession.”

The impact of the coronavirus pandemic could also play a factor in the French giant’s attempts to lure the Spanish star to French shores after Real Madrid recorded €106 million in income losses.
