Fulham Defender Tosin Adarabioyo on the Radar of Arsenal and Newcastle United

Tosin Adarabioyo

Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo is attracting interest from Arsenal and Newcastle United according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein via Peter Rutzler.

The defender has been a constant figure in Scott Parker’s team since he arrived from Manchester City last summer. However, he wasn’t able to help Fulham survive in the Premier League despite his performances having caught the eye.

According to Ornstein, the 23-year-old defender is open to an exit this summer and he may not be the only Fulham player on the way out.

Adarabioyo Has Impressed Despite Fulham’s Relegation

The talented central defender has made 31 appearances in the Premier League and formed part of a new-look Fulham defence following their promotion and disappointing start to the season. Adarabioyo slotted in well and has impressed with a string of consistent displays.

However, despite a much more solidified defence, Fulham couldn’t escape relegation with goals proving their major issue. Adarabioyo, though, despite his team’s relegation, has caught the attention of teams elsewhere.

Arsenal are on the hunt for defenders with David Luiz leaving at the end of the season. Mikel Arteta is set to revamp his squad after a disappointing season in which Arsenal could miss out on European football.

Arsenal are likely to face competition from Newcastle. The Magpies are gearing up for another season in the Premier League. Steve Bruce is looking to boost his squad as he targets a much improved season. Adarabioyo would suit Newcastle’s usual back-three style well and would certainly bring pace to the backline.

It’s not clear at this stage how much Fulham would command for the centre-back. But with the club determined to make an instant Premier League return, Scott Parker will want to keep his key players.

Adarabioyo Could Join Fulham Exodus This Summer

Fulham are set for another summer of change in terms of personnel. All their loanees, which include Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ademola Lookman, will return to their parent clubs, as will Joachim Andersen and Ola Aina. The defence which Scott Parker worked so hard to put together looks set to be split up this summer. Adarabioyo could follow his fellow defenders out the door.

Andersen may well be back in the Premier League, with several teams including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur interested in signing him. He, like Adarabioyo, has also impressed with his leadership and organisation.

However, his parent club Lyon will command a significant fee and he could be welcomed back to the club with current manager Rudi Garcia set to leave at the end of the season.

A big summer lies ahead for Fulham and Scott Parker. Another rebuild is on the horizon with an exodus expected following their relegation.
