David Ornstein of The Athletic has reported that Brighton defender Ben White is of interest to Arsenal and the North London club are believed to be readying an offer for the 23-year-old who was recently called up to the England squad to replace the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold for the delayed Euro 2020 tournament.

Mikel Arteta Looking to Boost Squad
Ornstein tweeted on June 11 that Arsenal hold a firm interest in signing the Brighton and Hove Albion defender in the summer transfer window despite him being under contract with Brighton until 2024.
Arteta wants to strengthen his squad and a centre back is high on his priority list and White could be a replacement for William Saliba who joined the Gunners in 2019 but spent the past two seasons out on loan.
From Southampton to England
White has had an excellent season under Graham Potter at the AMEX stadium and was a key part of the Brighton team that retained their Premier League status for another season.
White joined Brighton in 2014 and impressed on loan at Leeds United after spells at Peterborough United and Newport County. He is now one of the most highly regarded defenders in the league.
White made his full debut for England against Romania and impressed with a calm and confident display and, whilst he may not be in the starting 11, he will surely play some part as England look to win the competition with the final taking place at Wembley Stadium on July 11.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal missed out on European qualification for the 2021/22 season and Arteta is focused on ensuring he rebuilds with a mix of young talent and experience to get Arsenal back into the top four once more. Ben White would certainly be an ideal acquisition to begin that rebuild.
