Leicester City rarely fail to impress in the transfer market these days, and this summer is no different. It seems as though every piece of business is centred around the Foxes. Now, they’ve finally got a deal over the line after landing Red Bull Salzburg’s Patson Daka. The 22-year-old is highly thought of around Europe and is considered one of the best young players. Those reviews come as no surprise, either.
The forward scored 34 goals in 42 games for Salzburg last season, who have acted as the breeding ground for top talent in recent times. Daka also recorded 12 assists last season, taking his goal-involvement tally to 46. Many on-looking clubs will be jealous of Leicester City, who have secured the forward.

Eventual Replacement for Jamie Vardy
Jamie Vardy’s age and the eventual consequence of his age is no secret. The 34-year-old doesn’t have long left of his career, or, at least, his career playing at the top. Throughout last season, that slowly became evident as his form plummeted- leaving Kelechi Iheanacho to take the goalscoring reigns. Signing Daka, a quick, clinical and young striker is a clear indication that Vardy’s time on the pitch could be nearing its end.
Daka acts as a like-for-like replacement for Vardy, perhaps without the irreplaceable character but the similar style of play on the pitch. It’s not a bad sign that the Foxes are planning for the future. In fact, this signing shows more intent than ever. It shows that they want to remain part of the big six and finally reach the Champions League.
With young players such as Daka only set to improve, the Foxes are in a better position than ever. They finally have a squad able to challenge for a prolonged period of time at the King Power.
