Stoke City Looking to Sign Striker Keinan Davis on Loan
Keinan Davis Top of Stoke’s Wishlist
Stoke City are hoping to sign 23-year Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis on a season-long loan deal. The Potters have been on the hunt for a new striker this transfer window. Michael O’Neill is keen to add to his strikeforce this season after several injuries to key players saw his side struggling in front of the goal during the second half of last season.
Keinan Davis, on the other hand, is likely to be keen on a fresh challenge away from Villa Park. The striker came through Villa’s youth academy but has struggled in front of goal after making his debut in 2017. Davis has scored a measly six goals in 85 appearances for the Villains since his debut. His Premier League record has also not been the best, scoring just once in 33 appearances.
Stoke may have to wait a few weeks to complete the deal, though, with a decision yet to be made.
A Very Busy Summer for the Potters
Michael O’Neill’s side have been very busy this summer. They signed Ben Wilmot from Watford early in the transfer window, Jack Bonham and Mario Vrancic were also added on a free transfers.
There have also been a lot of outgoings. Kevin Wimmer made the move to SK Rapid Wien in late May after terminating his contract. John Obi Mikel and Ryan Woods have also left. Nathan Collins joined Premier League side Burnley, while Moritz Bauer and Bruno Martins Indi moved to FC Ufa and AZ Alkmaar, respectively. Defender Liam Lindsay also departed after the Potters accepted an offer from Preston North End.
