Dani Carvajal has today signed a contract extension, keeping him at Real Madrid until June 2025. The deal sees the Spanish right-back extend his long association with the club, which stretches back to 2002. Carvajal has been a first-team regular since 2013, making 294 appearances for the Spanish giants.

Carvajal Stays for Further Four Years

Carvajal has been a mainstay in the Real Madrid side since he made his debut as a 21-year-old in 2013. The Spaniard had one year left on his previous contract, with doubts beginning to emerge as to whether he would remain at the club beyond next season.

Carvajal has spent the vast majority of his career with Los Blancos, since joining as a ten-year-old in 2002. He made his way through the ranks until he became captain of Real Madrid Castilla – the reserve side – between 2010 and 2012.

After failing to make his way into the Real Madrid side initially, Carvajal joined German side Bayer Leverkusen. Carvajal impressed in his time away, as Real Madrid exercised their buy-back clause to bring Carvajal back to the Bernabeu.

Since then, Carvajal has made a name for himself as one of the best right-backs of his generation. He was a core member of one of the most memorable Real Madrid sides of recent times. He started in each of their four Champions League final victories, as Madrid dominated the European stage throughout the 2010s.

In total, Dani Carvajal has racked up 294 appearances and counting for Real Madrid, and his next appearance in La Liga will be a landmark 200th for him. However, Carvajal will be lining up alongside a new-look defence next season.

His long-term defensive partners in Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane have both decided to pursue new challenges ahead of the upcoming season. Ramos has joined Paris Saint-Germain, whilst Varane will be lighting up the Premier League next season with Manchester United.
