Nottingham Forest Make Former Derby County Defender Max Lowe Fourth Summer Signing

Nottingham Forest have announced the loan signing of former Derby County defender Max Lowe from Sheffield United.

Lowe Links Up With Forest After Difficult Defensive Problems

The defender’s arrival is Forest‘s fifth addition in the transfer window following the arrivals of Ethan Horvath, Philip Zinckernagel, Jordi Osei-Tutu and James Garner.

Lowe’s arrival adds another option for Chris Hughton in defence and resolves the crisis the Forest boss was enduring.

The departures of Yuri Ribeiro (contract expired), Nicholas Ioannou (loan, Como 1907) and Tyler Blackett (permanent, FC Cincinnati) had left the Reds short of options at full-back.

Osei-Tutu has filled in at left-back since his arrival at the City Ground but has a hamstring injury which could see him ruled out for several weeks.

Lowe joined Sheffield United from Derby County in a £15 million double deal involving Jayden Bogle just 12 months ago.

He made only eight appearances in the Premier League and has yet to feature in any competition under Slavisa Jokanovic this season.

Lowe’s first involvement in the Garibaldi could come this weekend when Forest make the short journey down the A52 to take on Derby at Pride Park.

Forest Continue Search for Improvements

Chris Hughton remains on the lookout for more players to strengthen his Forest squad.

The Reds have lost each of their first four Championship fixtures for only the second time in 67 years and reinforcements are desperately needed.

Forest have been linked with a number of players ahead of the conclusion of the transfer window next week.

Yesterday (August 26), John Percy of the Telegraph said Forest are looking to make at least four more signings before the close of the window.

Those could include Abdou Harroui (Sparta Rotterdam), Matthias Phaeton (Guingamp), Paul Mukairu (Antalyaspor) and Reggie Cannon (Boavista) who have all been identified as possible targets for the Reds recently.
